How many things can be said through a flower? Red roses mean passion, white ones grace and purity, and pink means happiness. And Marni wanted us all to feel the good vibes with a flower market at the end of the Milan Fashion week last Sunday, to celebrate its own 20th anniversary. A simple celebration wouldn’t have been enough for the head designer Consuelo Castiglioni, so she together with her crew, decided to set up a Flower Market, instead of hosting the typical party.
It perfectly represented the bold and atypical attitude of the brand , which the designer describes as “timeless, outlandish and representative of her way of thinking at fashion.” She shared that she had chosen the Market theme because she has always loved markets, crowded places, and because floral prints are a staple for Marni, and they’ll always be a part of the brand.
Marni’s Flower Market event, which was hosted on the September 21 (unfortunately for one day only!), was posted in Milan’s city center at Rotonda della Besana. Welcomed to the public for half a day, the flower market was covered with not only tons of flowers but with chairs, and vibrant Marni animal aprons and bags . Most of the products at the event had been handmade by Colombian or Zambian women and a portion of all proceeds will be donated to help Tibetan children with medical care through the Vimala Association.
Congrats to the iconic fashion house for reaching such a milestone. We are wishing another 20 fabulous years to Marni and all its crew and cannot wait for what is in store next!
