It may be all a dream to us, but Taylor and Karlie have it all. International model, Karlie Kloss, and pop star sensation, Taylor Swift, have struck up an adorable friendship that we just can’t get enough of.
Taylor and Karlie first met back in 2013, backstage at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where Kloss modeled for the brand and Swift preformed on stage with Fall Out Boy. Since then the two have become incredibly close, accompanying each other on various outings, as well as sharing the stage once again at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year in London.
They had been told for years by mutual friends in the industry that due to their striking similarities that they absolutely had to meet. And when they finally did they were instant besties. What they bonded over? “We’re both normal people” Kloss said casually. Taylor immediately agrees, saying, “We’re real girls”.
Since her lonely school days in Pennsylvania, Taylor has accumulated a powerhouse list of close girl friends to keep by her side. Beside Karlie Kloss, this group includes Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez, Jaime King, Kendall Jenner, Lorde, and more.
Although they always make time for each other, Swift and Kloss are keeping up insanely busy lives. While Taylor is getting ready to kick of her world tour for her best selling ablum 1989, Kloss is traveling the world between photoshoots and runway shows, as well as being recently accepted into NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
Even with everything going on in both of their lives, they make a point not to talk about work too much. Instead, they spend their time cooking meals together or going out on the town. However, Karlie claims that Taylor’s greatest talent is being able to bring diverse and amazing people together. Kloss admitted in the interview with Vogue, “She’s incredible at connecting people who might not normally meet…You know, real friends are hard to find—and Taylor’s a real friend. There’s nothing better.”
The Vogue photoshoot of Taylor and Karlie was shot by Mikael Jansson and reenacted the road trip they had actually taken together through Northern California almost a year ago. We see the two BFFs in campers and convertibles, modeling everything from billowing floor-length dresses to boho road trip casual. The vibes are fun, genuine, girly, and full of love — making us all want to take a little road trip with them.
