Paris Fashion Week Spring 2015: Day 9

Christophe Lemaire wanted to leave a lasting impression, as this is his final collection for Hermes. This spring/summer collection was kept very simple, but elegant and luxurious, with an undeniable vibe of sophistication. The runway was transformed into somewhat of a desert with an Hermes curtain hung in the back. All the pieces out on the runway were neatly tailored and pressed, yet chic and a little breezy. The collections tastefulness and simplicity were a breathe of fresh air at the show.

At the Moncler Gamme Rouge show in Paris, the models almost seemed to walk on water… The runway was designed as a projection to give the illusion of water. This season’s designer, Giambattista Valli, kept the theatrics to a minimum in order to focus on the collection itself. The result was a rather nautical themed show, with hints of Mediterranean influences. Most of the collection illustrated the standard nautical colors, such as blues, blacks, and cremes. However, the middle of the show brought some bright lifeguard red into the collection. The standouts of the show were definitely the final few numbers, which consisted of fun parkas that were actually made of tiny offset nautical flags!

The Louis Vuitton show opened with a video clip, saying “The journey starts here”. Then the runway was taken over with a fabulous spring Vuitton collection. The collection was designed to be familiar and comfortable. The show opened  with a classy white turtle neck dress, and many of the outfits after that continued with blacks, whites, and navies. That is until a stunning red number. From there the collection expanded into a wide array of colors, patterns, and textures, creating an exciting and beautiful collection.

Muiccia Prada designed an amazing collection and with the help of OMA there was a venue to match. Maybe not the most stunning venue, as it resembled an old simple church. However, it was a fitting contrast for the collection, and although it was a surprise to her, Prada loved it. The Miu Miu collection relied heavily on the housecoat — a Prada favorite. The housecoat appeared in various fabric and colors, complimenting multiple outfits. All in all, it created a well-rounded and enjoyable collection for spring/summer 2015.
