Paris Fashion Week Spring 2015: Day 7

Day 7 of PFW brought its fair share of powerhouse designers with top-tier collections. Two of our favorites of the day were Leonard Paris and Elie Saab for two entirely different reasons.

Leonard Paris captivated viewers with his refusal to embrace the seasonal trends and focus instead solely on translating the feeling and emotion of Spring into his collection, which was a breath of fresh air. Though crop tops were featured, and perfected, the main focus landed on the colorful and floral fabrics and the light and carefree silhouettes, which had us begging for spring instead of getting caught up in the details and execution of each piece.

Elie Saab, on the other hand, managed to blend both mastery of the trends with light airy fabrics that captured spring. While a large part of the viewers’ attention immediately went to execution, the perfection of each look as a whole still overpowered any minuscule detail.

The top two trends for Spring 2015 have managed to hold their ground through PFW day 7: Cut-outs and sheers. We’re loving what a few of the Day 7 designers did to update these and make them more appropriate for spring, too! The fabric left over from the cut-outs resembled floral patterns, which was a gorgeous compromise between the two trends without venturing into the 3-d flower trend. Embellishments, metallics, crop-tops, fringe, and the double-skirt trends aren’t going anywhere, either, but were simply not featured as prominently as the others.

We’ve picked our favorite looks from all of the Day 7 shows and have displayed them below so that you can decide for yourself!
