Paris Fashion Week Spring 2015: Day 3

Day 3 of PFW Spring 2015 housed some of the biggest names in fashion, and these top-tier designers reminded us why their collections deserve to remain on top. Barbara Bui and Balmain led the pack, already receiving a great deal of praise for their ability to manipulate the trends to fit the unique styles of their respective brands. Barbara Bui‘s collection was notable especially because it accentuated the less popular trends of the season, like metallics and unconventional lines (we’re loving the skirts on top of the pants look!), without neglecting the major trends. Balmain remains one of the most loved and respected collections for its intentional absence of any conventional silhouette and the visible amount of skill and attention that is awarded to each and every look.

As for trends of Day 3, Barbara Bui wasn’t the only show to incorporate metallics into their collection. After a strong showing in New York and London and a brief stint in Milan, metallics are slowly reappearing into the Paris shows, more subtly than before but gorgeous all the same. Though metallics and fringe are making an attempt to join the contest, sheers, cut-outs, and embellishments continue to rule the runways and we don’t see that changing any time soon.

Our favorite looks from all of shows of the day are shown below- let us know what you thought about PFW Day 3!
