Paris Fashion Week Spring 2015: Day 2

With PFW the one thing you can always depend on is unconventionality. Day two of the Spring 2015 shows did not disappoint, with crop-tops on top of jackets by Dries Van Noten, crop-tops with tails by Yang Li, seatbelts across the models’ chests at Rochas, and skirts atop the pants at Aganovich.

The unconventionality continued at Rochas, which is one of our choices for standout shows of the day, with the socks the models are sporting under their heels and the large “R” branded onto the most delicate of fabrics. Along with this blatant rejection of conventions, Rochas managed to perfect a few of Spring 2015’s trends including sheers, embellishments, and nature-inspired pieces.

Day two, in our opinion, saved the best show for last, closing out the day with Balenciaga. Alexander Wang made his presence known with these pieces, mixing athletic-inspired silhouettes with classic Balenciaga embellishment and grandeur. These embellishments, combined with cut-outs, sheers, and crops, represent a complete mastery of the season’s greatest trends.

As a whole, Day 2 showcased designers with collections that were polar opposites of each other. For example, the conservative and flowy silhouettes of Christophe Lemaire and Damir Doma were challenged by the blatant sex appeal of Alexis Mabille and Guy Laroche, while the monochromatic color scheme embraced by so many of the designers was shattered by the army of prints presented by Dries Van Noten. Therefore, no matter your style, Day 2 was sure to have a few shows catered to your preferences. Find your favorites below!
