Olivier Rousteing, the current designer for Balmain, put on a flamboyant and eccentric show this Paris Fashion Week. He was inspired by the Charlie Hebdo shootings this January and created the collection to showcase Parisian history, including the rich art and exotic cultures and origins. In an interview with Bridget Foley (WWD) Rousteing shared, “ I wanted to go back to that (history) and still keep the richness of the seventies in Paris.” And that is exactly what is seen. The 70’s in Paris was exciting for fashion, and Olivier brought all the grooviness of the 70’s to the runway with Balmain’s RTW Fall collection featuring florals and plenty of color blocking.
