New York Fashion Week: Street Style

It’s Fashion Week in New York and we’re all excited to see who wears what and who walks the runway. Most of us are so focused on the designers, the collections, and the models, that we tend to forget and overlook one of the most omnipresent parts of Fashion Week. And that is the street style.

Walking down the streets of New York, paparazzi and photographers are constantly flashing their cameras at individuals with a unique sense of style. Whether you’re walking to an event, or simply enjoying your stroll in the city, if your outfit screams out “wow” you better believe the photographers are bound to snap a photo of you throughout this important week of fashion.

Since it is a bit cooler this time of year in the city of New York, many attendees have layered on bright colored coats that are primary colors of NYFW. Blogger Samantha Angelo wore a seductive red coat over her studded over-the-knee boots, alongside a matching red clutch. Red is a color that screams out confidence and is definitely an attention grabber on the streets of New York.

Pop of colors don’t necessarily have to be everyone’s favorite. Neutrals are still very popular amongst most fashion-lovers. Blogger Nicole Putz is rocking her neutral layers with a casual white blouse and thigh high boots.

Layers and layers. We’re all trying to get through the cool weather right now. And what better way to keep warm and still maintain style and chic? Fur. Many people layered on fur coats or fur pieces to keep warm and to remain looking stylish.

Fur is not the only thing people have been wearing to keep warm. Piecing colorblock layers and other layers on top of lighter pieces can really finish off an outfit.

So often times, when you think street style, you think casual wear right? Not at all. The street style ranges from casual to formal. Men like Mariano Di Viao walks down the streets of New York in a European styled suit.

The great thing about the street style trends are how innovative and expressive they can be. With the fur coats and the cropped pants and trousers, street style usually has its way of making it to runway styles. Designers are often inspired by events, experiences, and people surrounding them, so you never know if your street style look ends up in a runway show next season!
