Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, day three of Milan fashion week brought the designers’ fresh new takes on the already established Spring 2015 trends! These updated trends were especially mastered by none other than Donatella at the Versace show (metallic crop-top with a sheer panel, anyone?) but were embraced by almost every collection of Day three.
Cut-outs, for example, were updated to laser-cut leather which is an elevated art-form that uses nothing other than the leather to create images and designs within the piece rather than combining fabrics or using a printed fabric to create a design (check Blumarine, Ermanno Scervino, Tod’s, and Versace below). The traditional floral/nature trend for spring was also updated and essentially combined with the embellishments trend to create 3-D florals, which creates a perfect mix of delicate and edgy. Another trend that has been featured intermittently throughout the fashion weeks is fringe, but we think it was done the best of all on day three (especially by Marco De Vincenzo)!
