Maybe she’s born with it — or maybe its Maybelline! 19-year-old model, Gigi Hadid, joins the Maybelline team as their newest ambassador. This young beauty is no stranger to the spotlight. She has already modeled for Tom Ford, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Victoria Secret Pink, and Guess. She even co-hosted The Daily’s Fashion Media Awards with Joe Zee.
The morning of January 14th, Gigi officially announced that she had signed as the new face for Maybelline New York. Gigi posted an Instagram video that day, releasing the news to her fans and friends. She proudly joins a long line of successful Maybelline models, including Erin Wasson, Emily Didonato, Christy Turlington, and Charlotte Free.
Later, in a press release Gigi said: “Being a Maybelline New York spokesperson means more to me than anyone can imagine… I feel so honored and humbled to be a part of the iconic brand I grew up with, and I am very excited by this opportunity.” The first official photo has already been released and Hadid looks stunning!
Jerome Bruhat, the Global Brand President, is also excited to have Hadid join their team. He says, ”We are thrilled to welcome Gigi Hadid to Maybelline New York… She reflects our brand values and represents Maybelline New York women all over the world who are smart, sexy, optimistic and full of life.”
Hadid also received the Model of the Year Award at the Daily Front Row’s first annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards. Not too bad after getting turned down from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show! Congrats Gigi and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for you!
