Fashion Week Alphabet: The A-Z’s of F/W 2015-2016

Here you go Poshies, covering the trends of all things Fall/Winter 2015-2016, it’s the Fashion Week Alphabet! From New York to Milan, we have gathered the hottest trends from the most well-known designers so you can get a head start on what’s in for the upcoming seasons!

A- Animal: Let out your inner animal this season! From jackets to accessories, animal prints have been seen from head to toe in collections from Burberry Prorsum and Erdem. 

B- Brocade: Feel like royalty with this rich looking pattern! Huishan Zang, Mary Katrantzou (Pictured Below), and Simone Rocha featured this regal look in their collections.

C- Car Wash Skirts: Dior, Oscar de la Renta, and J.Crew took it to the car wash this season with car wash skirts, a chic variation of the fringe trend!

D- Detailed Shearling: Coach, Rebecca Taylor, and Donna Karan added this luxe finish to leather and suede jackets, adding both a decadent and retro sense. 

E- Eccentric Fur: Fendi, Alexander McQueen, Roberto Cavalli used wild influences, patchwork effects, and flashes of color to spice up the classic fur coat.

F- Fringe: Trickling in from the Spring/Summer runways, where fringe was seen on bags and shoes, Sally LaPointe (Pictured Below), Oscar de la Renta, and Elisabeth and James upped the ante with fringe this season by adding the detail to knitwear and evening wear.

G- Grey: Taking over the Fall/Winter runways this season was the color grey! This cozy chic shade was seen in mostly monochromatic color schemes and in head to toe outfits from Jason Wu, Lacoste, and Proenza Schouler.

H- Head-To-Toe White: Classy, sexy, and chic, head-to-toe white is in this season! This snowy inspired look was seen in designs from Dior, Victoria Beckham, and Burberry Prorsum. 

I- Intricate Plaid: Plaid has been seen on skirts, tops, dresses, shoes, and everything else this season! Coach, Alexander Wang, and Phillip Lim used this intricate striped pattern in their collections. 

J- Jersey Dresses: Zac Posen, Tommy Hilfiger, and of course Chanel debuted classic high fashion jersey dresses that will be in style this Fall/Winter. 

K- Kanye West: This popular musical artist collaborated with Adidas to create a show like no other. With 50 models of all shapes and sizes all wearing flesh-toned body stockings and a signature garment created by the duo, the collection brought about a lot of buzz to the industry. 

L- Luxe Boho: Drawing from Spring/Summer’s 70’s theme and collaborating with the modern traveler, Altuzarra, BCBG (Pictured Below), and Rebecca Minkoff all used luxe fabrics, loads of embellishments, and floaty hemlines to create a glamorus boho vibe.

M- Military Style: Navy blue jackets, gold frogging, and epaulettes were all standing guard on the fall/winter runways! Gucci, Lanvin, and Valentino were a few of the many designers who prepared for battle with their designs this season. 

N- Necklines: From high to low to out of the ordinary, many designers played with the neckline of their garments this season. Some of the most interesting came from Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. 

O- Over-The-Knee Boots: Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, and Fendi established a simple and sexy seventies look with over-the-knee boots for the upcoming colder seasons.

P- Pockets: Whether sewed on or color-trasting, pockets are making it big this season! Paul Smith (pictured below), Jonathan Saunders, and Mother of Pearl have all added this trendy detail to their Fall 2015 collections.

Q- Quilt: The cold temps of Fall/Winter bring extra insulation with quilted garments! Adding warmth but not too much bulk, Christopher Raeburn, Markus Lupfer, and House of Holland featured quilted pieces this season. 

R- Reefer Jackets: Inspired by the U.S. Navy’s double breasted blue coat, Nina Ricci, Michael Kors, and Chloé added to the military trend of the season with this nautical inspired jacket. 

S- Superhero Capes: Flying in this season with different colors, lengths, and fabrics is the cape! Ralph Lauren, Delpozo, and Vivienne Hu featured this super style in there lines. 

T- Tied Bows: This old fashioned look has been inspired by the secretaries of Mad Men. Orla Kiely (Pictured Below), Mother of Pearl, and House of Holland all added this sophisticated staple in their looks.

U- Understated: This fall/winter you will be seeing more simplistic and subtle styles. Kate Spade featured  classic and elegant understated looks. 

V- Velvet Gowns: Evening wear has taken a turn for the velvet! Ralph Lauren, Valentino, and Chloé created elegant silhouettes with this luxe fabric. 

W- Wool: prominent trend for the upcoming chilly seasons is head to toe wool. This comfortable and soft look was seen mostly in neural colors on the runways of Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, and Céline. 

X- Xtreme Shine: Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, and Valentino incorperated a high level of shine in their fall/winter 2015-2016 lines.

Y- Yam: This fall inspired earthy color was seen on the runways of Rebecca Minkoff, Chloé, and Burberry Prorsum, and will be sure to be seen in stores this fall/winter!

Z- Zoolander: Actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (Pictured Below) walked the catwalk of Valentino as their characters from the 2001 movie Zoolander. Not only did they strut their stuff in Valentino’s trench coats, but they also promoted the premiere of Zoolander 2.
