Strapless sweetheart cuts, and plunging v-necks, every person who walked down the carpet tonight was dressed to impress. However, the sequins trend seemed to have taken a popular liking on the Oscars Red Carpet. Actress Margot Robbie, of “Big Short” walked down the carpet in an exquisite, sequined “dream gold dress” designed by the one and only Diane von Furstenburg.

“The Danish Girl” actress, Alicia Vikander walked down the carpet looking bubblier than ever. Dressed in a sequined, vibrant yellow dress, we were definitely getting the whole “Disney princess” vibe from her. Vikander described her dress as a “dusty yellow”. “May bring you good luck,” said Ryan Seacrest complimenting her on her Louis Vuitton dress.

Looking sexier than ever, nominee for Best Supporting Actress, Saoirse Ronan showcased her sparkled, plunging emerald gown on the carpet. With an open back and cut-out, this Calvin Klein gown definitely stole the attention on the carpet.

Who said sequins had to be in one color? Actress Naomi Watts did something daring and walked through the carpet with a multi-color sequined, mermaid-like piece that wrapped around her body in perfection. The lovely purple and blue sequined gown was designed by Armani Prive. And to top it off, Watts wore it with Bulgari jewels and a clutch, along with her Stuart Weitzman shoes.

Other attendees this year chose a dark classic shade that seemed to work and appeal for all of them—a midnight blue. Sofia Vergara came in an embellished dark, midnight blue, Marchesa gown.
