From 20 Million viewers, 1200 extras, and a packed Madison Square Garden, we have got and exclusive look at everything you missed at the Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, and believe us, you’re going to want to check it out!
The Color Scheme:
In his past two collections, Kanye West created his own signature neutral color scheme and in Yeezy Season 3 he decided to mix it up a little bit. He still kept the classic neutral dark browns and nudes, but added reds oranges and blues into his designs and well as some athletic-inspired color blocking!
The Viewership:
Tidal press released that there were over 20 million people watching, or attempting to watch due to connection difficulties, the Yeezy Season 3 show at its peak. It is still unknown how many total people streamed during the two hour performance.
The Life of Pablo:
Fashion and music go hand and hand so not only did Kanye launch Season 3, but he also launched his latest album, The Life of Pablo. He stood behind the DJ booth during the show, but also took his time to rap live and weave through the models. Artists featured on his songs include Chance the Rapper, Rihanna, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, & Kid Cudi. Before the show Kanye stated that his new album may be “ONE of the greatest albums if not the greatest album.”
Model Etiquette:
Now we all know that Kanye is said to be a bit of a perfectionist, but we found it to be true when we got a glimpse of his models “Performance Rules” which include things such as:
-No Eye Contact
-No Smile
-Do Not Act Cool
-Alternate Between Attention And Ease
and one of our personal favorites:
-If You Are Tired, Sit Down Or Lye Down
Check out the entire list below:
The Models:
Even though they had some strict rules to follow, Yeezy Season 3 debuted a diverse case of models such as Veronica Webb, Liya Kebede, Alek Wek, and even a surprise appearance by Naomi Campbell.
Keeping Up:
Being there to support Kanye was of course the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan who sported coordinating neutral themed dresses that were designed in collaboration by Kanye himself and one of their favorite labels, Balmain. Their eloquent attire included ripped sweaters, lots of fur, and bejeweled detailing.
The Wait is Yet To Come:
Yeezy Season 2 is still yet to hit stores, so it looks like we are in for a little bit of a wait for Season 3. In the meantime, check out some of Kanye’s Season 3 lookbook below and keep an eye out for when it hits the stores!
