How to Rock a Full Skirt

Full skirts can be spotted on practically every fashion-forward celebrity and fashion blogger this season—and for good reason! Here are some basic guidelines to rocking a full skirt like the best of ‘em this spring.

Tops: When pairing your full skirt it’s best to opt for a form fitting or cropped top. They tend to look best when paired with a classic button down, a crop top, a sweater, or a bandeau.  Pairing them with anything flowy or oversized can make them look disproportional and cause you to get lost in them.

Accessories: The same idea applies to accessories: approach anything oversized or any statement piece with caution. They pull focus from the outfit and the skirt itself is already a statement piece. Jewelry is best kept minimal with a clutch for night or a mini-bag for day.

Shoes: As far as shoes are concerned, a pointed toe stiletto perfectly complements the elegance of the skirt without taking away focus. But be wary of anything with an ankle strap—if it’s too thick it can cut off the small portion of your leg that’s showing and cause too many lines (especially if paired with a bandeau and there is already a portion of your stomach showing). Here are some examples of full skirts flawlessly styled to give you an idea of how to rock this trend for both day and night!
