The Assistant Fashion Editor will report to the Fashion Editor and will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the women’s Editorial team. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and can take on any task to see it through to completion. With a natural eye for fashion, knowledge of current trends, events, and the fashion marketplace, this role will have the chance to contribute ideas that will immediately impact and grow the business. The right candidate will have a love for all things fashion, take pride in their work and have an interest to collaborate and succeed in a dynamic retail environment.
 
 
Responsibilities•  Contribute ideas on the creative direction of all women’s events — including hair, makeup, model selection, props, messaging, styling direction and merchandising
•  Assist in executing all women’s curated events from conception to completion
•  Communicate editorial calendar and event vision to merchant team, including visuals, style guidance, ideal merchandise mix, etc.
•  Assist in managing and coordinating orders for all women’s curated events
•  Collaborate with Planning and track event performance and metrics to help maximize the productivity of editorial events
•  Create and maintain the editorial calendar (with detailed information on upcoming events, sales plan, categories, status, etc.)
•  Work closely with the studio to ensure the editorial vision is being represented
•  Support editorial team with story ideation, visuals, trends and themes to drive the strategic merchandising vision
•  Maintain an annual editorial pop culture & events calendar (ideas that could lend themselves to curated events e.g. TV shows, movies, music festivals, celebrity news, award shows etc.)
•  Stay current. Monitor competitive sites daily/weekly, keep up-to-date on new brands, fashion news, industry changes, pop culture etc.
•  Schedule and attend appropriate fashion shows, trade shows, market appointments and previews
•  Maintain an industry contact listRequirements•     Minimum 1-2 years fashion editorial experience
•     Desire to learn new things and ability to learn them quickly
•     Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities and fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
•     Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
•     Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships
•     Strong written and oral communication skills
•     Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, and detail and deadline oriented
•     Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
