Position Overview
:
The Merchandiser contributes to the success of the departmental business through developing and driving seasonal business strategies that meet or exceed financial goals and maintains the brand identity.  Orchestrates the CFT process and identifies business opportunities.  Recommends pricing strategies for specific categories.
PrimaryResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

·          Drives top-line financial objectives for the department.
·          Provides clear and timely communication ensuring that the cross functional team is aligned toward a common goal.
·          Provides analysis to support the development of departmental seasonal strategies that meet financial targets.
·          In collaboration with Design, provides information and ideas to develop key concepts, key items, and promotional strategies and store assortments that provide a delighting client experience.
·          Develops seasonal framework – developing style and sku count by fabrication for future season.
·          Coordinates line across Merchandising departments.
·          Identifies new ways to drive the business from a merchandising, product, planning and operations perspective.
·          Partners with Production on achieving IMU targets and delivery requests in order to meet/exceed financial objectives.
·          Participates in fitting garments and review of product details to ensure product execution meets design aesthetics as well as quality standards.
·          Identifies business opportunities and risks through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace information.
·          Partners with Planning and Store Planning to develop a balanced investment strategy by category and by store types.
·          Researches competitive market to identify new trends.

Position Requirements:
·          Bachelors degree and 2 –5 years experience in Merchandising
·          Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions
·          Ability to take analysis into action, executes to timelines and provides timely solutions
·          Strong leadership profile and interpersonal skills
·          Strong analytical skills and clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them
·          Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
·          Exceptional presentation and persuasion skills
·          Maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals
·          Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-pace environment
·          Accurately assess employee strengths and development needs
